Random Drawing – Timeline & Procedures

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
The 2025 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon Random Drawing occurs in two phases. Each Random Draw Round will have its own sign-up window and registration window. Please see key dates below:
First (1st) Round Random Drawing
- Random Drawing Sign-Up Window: Thurs, September 26 - Fri, October 25
- 1st Round Winners Selected: Fri, November 1, 2024 (notified via email with registration details)
- 1st Round Registration: Fri, November 1, 2024 – Mon, November 18, 2024
Second (2nd) Round Random Drawing
- Random Drawing Sign-Up Window: Fri, October 25 – Mon, November 18
- 2nd Round Winners Selected: Fri, November 22, 2024 (notified via email with registration details)
- 2nd Round Registration: Fri, November 22, 2024 - Fri, December 13, 2024
Random Drawing Winners:
To claim your Race Entry you MUST complete the following:
- Activate the registration link sent via email by clicking the hyperlink. Please note, registration links are unique to each individual winner selected in each round. Registration links are non-transferable.
- Complete registration steps.
- Complete the registration payment.
All Random Draw Winners must complete their registration per the registration deadline:
- 1st Round Registration Deadline: Mon, November 18, 2024
- 2nd Round Registration Deadline: Fri, December 13, 2024
- There are NO EXCEPTIONS to these deadlines. Entry is first-come, first-served. Spots are limited and the race may close registration early depending on capacity.
- A maximum of 2,000 participants are allowed in the race. A majority are selected through the random drawing procedure.
- Participants will be chosen from the following groups in order:
- Those who have competed 3 or more times (in the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon)
- Open random draw from all those remaining
- The drawing is selected at random by computer, however, the selection process will ensure the selection of at least one male and one female from all 50 states and at least 10% international participation

*Challenged Athletes, Open Relay Teams will participate in open registration and are not subject to selection through the random drawing procedure. Challenged Athletes and Relay Teams will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
**Registration window may close early if capacity is reached due to high demand.
